The U.S. Open (Tennis)
Query:

How much would it be worth to the U.S. Open and its television partners to have Agassi progress to at least the quarter finals?

Enough to make large enough "side payments" to other players to let him win?

(note: I am making no allegations. I am just wondering about the possibilities.)

Saw the Sampras-Agassi final at the US Open in 2001.

Best. Tennis. Ever.

2nd best sports event I had ever been too. Best was seeing Jordan score 63 points against the Knicks in the 94 Eastern Conference semifinals at Madison Square Garden.

I have never had much taste for Agassi as a player, though he is growing on me, but I watch his matches hoping for shots of Steffi Graf in the stands.
